From the makers of the hit ICE AGE series comes RIO, directed by Carlos Saldanha, a comedy adventure about taking a walk on the wild side. Blu is a domesticated Macaw who never learned to fly, living a comfortable life with his owner and best friend Linda in the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota. Blu and Linda think he’s the last of his kind, but when they learn about another Macaw who lives in Rio de Janeiro, they head to the faraway and exotic land to find Jewel, Blu’s female counterpart. Not long after they arrive, Blu and Jewel are kidnapped by a group of bungling animal smugglers. With the help of street smart Jewel, and a group of wise-cracking and smooth-talking city birds, Blu escapes. Now, with his new friends by his side, Blu will have to find the courage to learn to fly, thwart the kidnappers who are hot on their trail, and return to Linda, the best friend a bird ever had.

With the voice cast of Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jemaine Clement, Leslie Mann, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, will.i.am, Rodrigo Santoro, Jane Lynch, Jamie Foxx and Carlos Ponce and original music by Sergio Mendes & will.i.am, RIO, will sure become a family favorite for all to enjoy.

Now families can bring RIO home and enjoy the fun as DVD and Blu-Ray copies became available for purchase on August 2nd in-store and online.

  10. Great giveaway! I would love to win this for our family movie night. We rarely go to the movies, since our son has autism, we never know how he’ll react to a movie. Watching movies at home, allows us to have an enjoyable movie experience without any stress.

  13. Princess Nagger and I saw this movie in the theater and both LOVED it! She was just saying earlier today that it’s out on DVD and we need to get it so we can watch it during our Family Movie Night so the hubby could see it, too. And so she could watch it over and over whenever she wants. 😉

  43. We’d love to win this to watch as a family night movie. After taking my 2.5 yo to see Cars 2 in the theater, we plan to watch movies at home for a bit longer. lol A little too active to sit still and enjoy it. At home he has a little more freedom and we can all enjoy the movie and have fun.
    Plus we have a great popcorn popper and it’s a good excuse to use it!
