Celebrating the Holidays and Xbox 4GB with Kinect Giveaway #TresReyes @MiBestBuy @XBOX

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season was different for us this year because we were recently blessed with the opportunity to build our home over the last several months.  We moved into our new home during the holidays so in the midst of preparing for the holidays, we were also packing up boxes and coordinating a move for a family of 5.

With a teen boy and preschool identical twins in the house, their first priority was to get the Christmas tree and decoration set-up in the new home.  Forget about unpacking clothes – the twins wanted to make sure Santa Claus knew we moved into a new home and had our new address.  Our teen, who always enjoyed decorating our home for Christmas, was eager to start putting up seasonal decorations.

In addition to Christmas, in Latin culture, Three Kings Day (Día de los Tres Reyes Magos) , is also celebrated on January 6th.

The Three Kings of the Epiphany are the guys who followed the star to Bethlehem, to offer the  baby Jesus presents of gold, frankincense and myrrh 12 days after he was born.  Los Reyes Magos, come to people’s homes on the night of January 5th (La Vípera de Reyesor the Eve of Three Kings Day) to bring them presents.  Kids write their wish lists to their favorite king (Melchor, Baltazar or Gaspar), and they leave out snacks for the Three Kings (and grass for their camels) before they go to bed. On January 6th, there are huge family gatherings with lots of traditional foods.

While preparing for the holidays, we were also in the process of moving into our newly built home and needed to purchase some major home appliances.  Immediately, we  went to Best Buy, a favorite in our house for tech, gaming, and audio items, to look at their extensive and affordable options for major home appliances.

With a house full of boys, gaming systems can be found in our home and is considered a fun option.  My military husband and our teen son like to play on Xbox 360 military and logistical styled games like Halo, Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc.

In an effort to connect with our Latino consumer more directly, Best Buy is recognizing the important dates and holidays in our Latino customers’ lives. The “Tres Reyes” initiative is a joint effort between Best Buy and Microsoft Xbox to celebrate Three Kings Day, an important day during the Holiday season.

Xbox is more than just a gaming system, with Xbox Live offering access to radio, TV, movies, etc.  Xbox products  are sold in Best Buy stores.

In honor of Día de los Reyes, Best Buy is partnering with Microsoft to promote Best Buy as the destination for gifts for Three Kings and Xbox and Xbox Live as two great gift ideas. We are offering as a giveaway a Xbox 4GB with Kinect!
