Thanks to my wonderful sponsor, HearthSong.com, I was able to attend Blogalicious 2010 in Miami.  It was a resoundly wonderful experience to be in the midst of such diverse multi-cultural bloggers.  Created by the three talented lawyers, the emphasis at Blogalicous was on celebrating diversity within social media.  Bloggers and brands alike learned about the importance and value of multi-cultural marketing to all women.  Women of color, which includes African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Asian Americans, are the core of the consumer buying power in the U.S.  With the majority (80%) of women of color being online and using social networks on a daily basis, they are the household decision makers for their homes. 
Due to the changing cultural landscape of the U.S., marketing strategies, advertisements, campaigns have to evolve to represent the powerful consumer buyers, women of color.  It was encouraging to see such well respected brands/companies as Kellogg’s, Sears, Johnson’s, McDonald’s, GMC, General Mills, Pampers, Box Tops For Education, BALI, and many others interested in creating working relationships with bloggers so their products can reach the key consumer audience.

With the dynamic speakers, (including Chicas Chatting co-host, Jennifer), all attendees were able to learn about an array of social media topics from how to improve blog designs to connecting to the Hispanic community.
