(Review & Giveaway) What’s In The Bible: Helping To Usher A Moral Change For Our Youth

in brands, entertainment, faith, families, giveaways, multiples, parenting, reviews, savings, technology on 03/05/10

Have you seen those Capital One credit card commercials that ask “What’s in your wallet?” Capital One is trying to make you think that you need to open your wallet and ensure that you have one of their credit cards otherwise a group of rowdy Vikings will come plundering through your home. The commercial is a great visual impression to leave on an adult’s mind. What kind of impression is being set on today’s youth? What messages are they receiving from a media obsessed society? A person inspiring our youth into a positive and moral change is Phil Vischer, creator of “What’s In The Bible?”

Many parents and families will know Phil Vischer as the dynamic creator of VeggieTales. VeggieTales, the groundbreaking Christian cartoon that showcased the breakout stars of Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato. One of the reasons Phil has created “What’s In The Bible?” is to answer the call placed in his heart to help today’s youth. Many children of this generation not only do not know what is inside a bible, but stop going to church all together once they reach their teen years.  This new 13 DVD-series is slated to take viewers through each book of the Bible!

We are Going to The Disney Social Media Moms Celebration

Sponsored by Tyndale House Publishers, I was able to preview the first two “What’s In The Bible?” episodes, In the Beginning and Let My People Go. The episodes are educational while being humorous simultaneously, a gift that Phil Vischer has perfected on all of his series.

“What’s In The Bible?” features a cast of characters that truly range from the comedy club to the church. Buck Denver is the “CNN” type news host; Clive and Evan are the smart & not so smart safari adventure brothers; Chuck Wagon is the honky-tonk country singer; Sunday School Lady is the all-knowing Sunday school teacher; and there is Winifred and Agnes, the American Idol type judges critiquing the show.

The series captures the attention and explains the main themes in each of the book of the Bible in a concise and fun manner. Children and adults alike will love this series.  This will be a great resource for homes, churches, and youth organizations to share and understand the Bible!

As a special gift, Tyndale House Publishers & Phil Vischer, have offered two gift certificates for In the Beginning and Let My People Go, one for a free copy of each DVD! TWO lucky readers of this site will receive a gift certificate for In The Beginning & another reader will win a gift certificate for Let My People Go.

Any opportunity to have the children learn about the Bible and it be a fun learning experience is a wonderful thing. I appreciate Phil Vischer creating another series that meets the needs of other families looking for help with their children.

Bah! best quote from the video “…and the cows fell with a thud…” Fun! The videos sound like they would be interesting to watch, and my 11-yr-old was smiling during it (so that gives it an additional thumbs up). I’d really be interested in showing these to my Girl Scouts working on their religious awards. It would take their religious ed lessons down a notch, to a more ‘entertaining’ level, rather than being constant lecture. Thanks for the heads up!

The holidays can be beautiful… but for many grieving parents — especially special needs parents — this season hurts in ways most people never see.

Between disrupted routines, sensory overload, and the ache of missing someone you love, December can feel overwhelming. And here’s what most don’t realize:

Nearly HALF of Christians stop attending church after losing a loved one… not because they’ve lost their faith, but because they feel the church doesn’t know how to walk with them through grief.
These families aren’t leaving God —
they’re leaving because they feel unseen in their pain.

As someone who advocates for families of ALL abilities, I’m sharing a new blog post today on how we can support grieving loved ones — especially special needs parents — with compassion, faith, and presence this holiday season.

If someone in your life is grieving, please don’t stay silent.
Say their loved one’s name.
Offer specific help.
Create space for their emotions.
Pray with them.
Walk with them — gently, consistently, faithfully.

Because no parent should have to grieve alone during the holidays.

🏆 Earlier this week, I was once again filled with thankfulness, love, and faith.
🏆 I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Home Health Care USA for naming me the “Latina American Caregiver of the Year!”
🏆 Caregivers are among the unsung heroes in our society, and there are many different types of caregivers. For instance, the “Sandwich Generation” refers to individuals who are caring for both their aging parents and their children simultaneously. These caregivers often provide physical, emotional, and financial support. More than 50% of Americans in their 40s and 50s are currently caring for both their children and their senior parents—and usually without any help from extended family.
🏆 Some caregivers dedicate their entire lives to caring for a child—or children—with disabilities into adulthood. Unfortunately, many caregiving parents or family members do not get a break or have quality time for themselves. About 50% of couples with special needs or neurodiverse children end up getting divorced.
🏆 Having experienced both of these caregiving situations and still living within them, being named “Latina American Caregiver of the Year” means more to me than just an award. It symbolizes the millions of unpaid caretakers across the country who provide loving, effective care for family members or friends.
🏆 I also want to extend my gratitude to all those who have followed my caregiving journey the past 17 years, including my care for my beloved late parents and my superhero, Joshua, on my social channels, Mami of Multiples, and Dr. Joscelyn Ramos Campbell. The BEST is yet to come! 🙌
🌎 Lastly, congratulations to all my fellow winners standing on stage. Your work in your communities helps make the world a better place!
