LUNA Protein Bars for Moms and Giveaway

in brands, families, food, giveaways, health, parenting, reviews on 10/11/11

Thank you to LUNA Protein for providing me a LUNA Protein sample pack to review.
The opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.
Busy
Hectic
Crazy
Chaotic
Blessed
All words that can describe a typical week in my household.  Being a military wife, raising a teen son & toddler twin boys and having a home based small business can be quite a challenging juggling act.  As is often the case with mothers and women in general, we are always busy taking care of others.  We are constantly caring for spouses, children, family members, friends, working at home, working away from home, organizing, developing and basically being the foundation of our circles.  I know as go about my day and all the tasks that have to be done, I often neglect one important person…myself! I can’t even count how many times I go thorough an entire day and forget to eat. Its a bad and unhealthy habit so I am always trying to find convenient food that actually have nutritional value. I was happy to find about LUNA protein bars.

LUNA Protein is a gluten free high protein bar for women. In under 200 calories, LUNA Protein offers 12 grams of soy and whey protein and 3 grams of fiber to satisfy hunger. It is free of trans fats, hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup; artificial sweeteners, flavors or preservatives; and ingredients sourced from GMOs.  Each 1.6 oz (45g) LUNA Protein bar has around 170-190 calories with 12g protein and 3g fiber, along with essential nutrients women need. It is high in calcium and folic acid, and is a good source of vitamin D, iron, fiber and antioxidants (vitamins A, C and E). Each bar has 6-9g fat and 13-15g sugar depending on the flavor.

Since convenience and nutrition are important to me, I appreciated that LUNA Protein bars were not only available individually and in packs but with different flavors to chose from.  Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Cherry Almond and Mint Chocolate Chip provide great tasting varieties for anyone.  LUNA Protein are not a meal replacement bar or a diet bar. The bars are convenient snacks that satisfies and curbs hunger between meals and helps women more easily fit protein into their day.  I enjoyed the Chocolate and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors the best, the bars were fulfilling and helped to satisfy my hunger during the day.

To help moms and women everywhere, enter to win 5 LUNA Protein prizes,
which each include a sample pack of LUNA Protein as well as a bonus treat from LUNA!

I fell in love with Luna Bars when I was pregnant! My OB gave me a sample along with a coupon and I was hooked. They gave me energy and always tasted good. I would stow them in the car, in my desk and in my bag. Wow! I need to stock up…I sort of forgot about that until now…along with everything else!

The holidays can be beautiful… but for many grieving parents — especially special needs parents — this season hurts in ways most people never see.

Between disrupted routines, sensory overload, and the ache of missing someone you love, December can feel overwhelming. And here’s what most don’t realize:

Nearly HALF of Christians stop attending church after losing a loved one… not because they’ve lost their faith, but because they feel the church doesn’t know how to walk with them through grief.
These families aren’t leaving God —
they’re leaving because they feel unseen in their pain.

As someone who advocates for families of ALL abilities, I’m sharing a new blog post today on how we can support grieving loved ones — especially special needs parents — with compassion, faith, and presence this holiday season.

If someone in your life is grieving, please don’t stay silent.
Say their loved one’s name.
Offer specific help.
Create space for their emotions.
Pray with them.
Walk with them — gently, consistently, faithfully.

Because no parent should have to grieve alone during the holidays.

🏆 Earlier this week, I was once again filled with thankfulness, love, and faith.
🏆 I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Home Health Care USA for naming me the “Latina American Caregiver of the Year!”
🏆 Caregivers are among the unsung heroes in our society, and there are many different types of caregivers. For instance, the “Sandwich Generation” refers to individuals who are caring for both their aging parents and their children simultaneously. These caregivers often provide physical, emotional, and financial support. More than 50% of Americans in their 40s and 50s are currently caring for both their children and their senior parents—and usually without any help from extended family.
🏆 Some caregivers dedicate their entire lives to caring for a child—or children—with disabilities into adulthood. Unfortunately, many caregiving parents or family members do not get a break or have quality time for themselves. About 50% of couples with special needs or neurodiverse children end up getting divorced.
🏆 Having experienced both of these caregiving situations and still living within them, being named “Latina American Caregiver of the Year” means more to me than just an award. It symbolizes the millions of unpaid caretakers across the country who provide loving, effective care for family members or friends.
🏆 I also want to extend my gratitude to all those who have followed my caregiving journey the past 17 years, including my care for my beloved late parents and my superhero, Joshua, on my social channels, Mami of Multiples, and Dr. Joscelyn Ramos Campbell. The BEST is yet to come! 🙌
🌎 Lastly, congratulations to all my fellow winners standing on stage. Your work in your communities helps make the world a better place!
