Lend a Smithfield Ham This Holiday and Get a Spiral Sliced Ham Giveaway #LendAHam

The holidays are time of much celebration, laughter, love and joy.  However, for many families across the nation, the holidays can be a stark reminder of basic necessities that are not being met daily. Chartiable donations and giving are needed throughout the year for families in need, especially during the holiday season. Smithfield Hams has started a new initiative called Lend A Ham in an effort to fight food insecurity this holiday season.
LEND A HAM
Smithfield has partnered with Country Music Star Kimberly Schlapman of CMA Award- and Grammy Award-winning band Little Big Town to lend a ham this holiday season to donate one million servings of protein before December 24, 2014.
To help raise awareness of the fight against hunger, Kimberly is asking viewers to give back and lend a ham to their community. For every act of goodwill shared with the hashtag #LendAHam on Twitter or the Smithfield Facebook page, Smithfield will donate one serving of protein to a local food bank with the goal to reach one million servings.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Americans can contribute to their efforts by sharing their good deeds using the hashtag #LendAHam. Each time an act of goodwill along with the hashtag is posted on Twitter or on the Smithfield Facebook page by December 24th, Smithfield will donate one serving of protein to a local food bank, up to one million servings.
