Hi! I’m Jeff. I have lived in the greater Seattle area all of my life and I have no intention of leaving. I met my wife Donna here. Though I struggle with loading the dishwasher “correctly” and she has a hard time trusting MapQuest when I’m driving, I’d say that we’re still doing okay. We just celebrated our 25^th anniversary, so we must be doing something right. Our two grown sons, Nick and Sam, still live with us, but we’re in no hurry to become empty nesters just yet….though there are days… 😉

As you might have guessed by looking at my family’s Christmas card below, when we recreated one of the many iconic Christmas album covers from the 1960s, we are a fun family!

I was the kid who always had to sit near the front of the classroom because he talked too much. I enjoyed creative writing from an early age, took graphic design courses in high school and have performed a lot of community theatre over the years.

I am a pop culture enthusiast who loves writing about movies, TV, music, books, travel, theme parks…I’m just a big kid. In addition to appreciating art for art’s sake, I enjoy finding spiritual insight within the arts as well. A pet project of mine is re-watching Disney animated movies and finding biblical significance with them.

The Northwest Entertainment and Lifestyle Contributing Columnist and “Dad’s Pop Life with Jeff Totey” , is an entertainment, pop culture, parenting and travel contribution often from a dad’s and Christian perspective.  I’ll be sharing insights on arts and entertainment from a dad’s (and sometimes a husband’s) perspective.

I will be offering advice, tips and resources on a range of topics from arts, entertainment, parenting and travel. I have a bunch of ideas to share from what movies to watch (or not), new trends, date night ideas, what music sounds good, vacation tips, what to see on your next trip to the Northwest and maybe even a Christian thought or two.
