When I heard about the Whirlpool WashSquad App, I was very excited about the time management possibilities. I decided to review the app and I put it to the test today with the kids. The Whirlpool WashSquad App has the option for you to create multiple users, known as your “Squad” and assign laundry jobs in the Wash Board section.
My first thought was I could just use a chart in the laundry room and my kids can follow that. (That is always an option but in this digital age, families are often tech savvy including with apps.) Perhaps your family forgets about the chore list and you’re struggling to get your busy spouse or teenagers to help out with the laundry. A great feature is when your spouse or children download the app, all of the jobs you assign them, get sent to their app. The app allows you to leave a note with each task, assign points for completing the task, schedule a deadline and even assign a guide to assist them. I think this is genius for time management, especially since many teenagers and parents own at least one iPhone, iPad, or iPod or tablet or smartphone.
Another helpful feature are the guides for doing laundry and tips for stain removal. If you assign a guide to a user’s job, you have peace of mind that your child or spouse will have the help they need with the guide. Stain removal tips are great for teaching little ones how to be self-sufficient. The more capable our children are of doing chores on their own, the less micromanaging us Moms have to do, and that means we can focus on more important things.
My children and I had a great experience using this app today. My older twin girls just turned five and the youngest set of twins are three. The 3 year olds don’t have smartphones to use the app and help me on their own, but they are old enough that they can help me sort the clothes by color, load the washer and dryer and this app is giving me an opportunity to make laundry time a family activity, instead of just another chore.
