Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Mi Best Buy and Mi Cultura

Mid-September thru mid-October is officially designated as Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States. “Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America” as stated by the Library of Congress.

Events across the nation occur to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month – the diverse cultures, food, music, and provide an educational and learning experience for all who attend.  In an effort to connect with our Hispanic consumer more directly, Best Buy is recognizing the important dates and holidays in our Latino customers’ lives. The “Mi Cultura” initiative is a joint effort between Best Buy and some of its key vendor partners to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.  Best Buy has over 1,000 stores in the US with Spanish-speaking sales associates in more than 300 locations.

We recently visited our local Best Buy as part of the #MiCultura shopping experience and it was wonderful see images and advertisements displayed throughout our local Best Buy that reflected the Hispanic and multi-cultural consumer and market.  Sales associates, managers, and employees at my local Best Buy were of diverse of ethnicities and worked in all departments from technology to household accessories.
