Back-To-School Tips From Parents
Organize your school supplies On Monday you send your kids to school with at least 100 pencils, pens, erasers, and who knows what else. By the time the first weekend hits, they are down to just one! Start by setting up a school supply station in your home and only send your kid to school with what they need, and save the rest for later.

Start preparing after school snacks Snack time is inevitable, but is still one of the most forgotten parts of back to school time. Look for simple and easy recipes, and make them in bulk. If possible freeze or store the leftovers and use them throughout the month for your kids!

Implement the one touch rule for school papers It’s easy to lose permission slips or forget to put homework in the backpack after you’re done looking it over. If you implement the one touch rule for all things school related, it will make your life that much easier. After dinner, have your kids bring you everything school related they need you to look at for the day, then give it back to them to put straight into their backpack.

Make sure backpacks are packed the night before If your school mornings are like mine, it’s not exactly moving at a turtle’s pace around here. Save yourself some trouble by packing all sports bags, backpacks, and purses the night before and put them by the door for the morning. This will help you make sure you aren’t forgetting anything.

Set a designated homework time Whether your kids tell you or not, they will have something to do for class every single day. If it’s not a homework assignment, it’s likely studying for a test. Set a designated time where the whole family will sit down and do their homework. I like to have all the kids sit at the table while I’m cleaning up, so I’m right there if they need help.

We hope by implementing these simple but effective systems into your home life, you’ll be ready to start the school year with a bang!

🕊️🎂 Today, June 30th, is my Mommy’s birt 🕊️🎂 Today, June 30th, is my Mommy’s birthday. On her birthday week, it was revealed to me that her image is now permanently on the legendary wall window at Nathaniel’s Community Center and Gymnasium on the campus of @hopeinternationalchurch in Groveland, Florida!
🕊️🎂 This iconic gesture made possible by our amazing Sr. Pastors, Dr. @pastortonymccoy & @pastorjodiemccoy, and their wonderful family. Among God’s many blessings, He provides a 1. strong church home 2. good spiritual family/friends 3. supportive relatives & (non-blood) family. Before Mom departed this earth, she had blessed assurance & peace that God answered her final prayers because she asked that all 3 would be provided for myself & my family. She happily bore witness that God delivered within (the always welcoming to everyone) Hope International and with the McCoy family.
🕊️🎂 I have been blessed beyond measure to have been born and raised by two legendary parents in every sense of the word. Mommy is/was my best friend, counselor, advisor, mentor, role model, fashion icon, prayer warrior, and so much more. I’m honored and so thankful that her sphere of influence is still touching lives today. Happy Heavenly Birthday Mommy! We love and miss you para siempre!

🏝️After watching him naturally swim like a fi 🏝️After watching him naturally swim like a fish in the ocean and pool, Florida-born Joshua, has been called “Island Boy” by St. Thomas natives. Today, he was offered a “job” on Max Charters for how well he immediately accumulated to the sailboat rules and riding the dinghy. He truly is at home in the water and in the islands. During one of our stops sailing, the crew took us to beaches that are only accessible by boat.
❤️❤️Per usual, Joshua was swimming freestyle underwater looking at the fishes. When all of sudden, he stopped and looked up on the shoreline. There was a pretty spot, he looked right at it, started waving his hand and said “PAPA…MAMA”. He kept waving and smiling, as if he was seeing them.
🏊‍♂️Nothing interrupts Joshua when he is swimming (as can be seen in a previous video). It’s amongst his most favorite activitiy to do. However, he stopped himself, when he “saw” his beloved late grandparents to wave, smile, and say hello to them. Afterwards, he smiled and went back to swimming.
🌊 The name of the beach, “Hidden Cove”. Grateful for God’s extra love and mercies to our special needs children that are just for them. #LoveAndMissYouMama #LoveAndMissYouPapa
