Back-to-School Giveaway with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010 @Office #OfficeParaMi

in back to school, brands, education, families, giveaways, parenting, reviews, savings, technology on 09/01/12

Back to school season has arrived with many students returning back to school for the new school year after Labor Day.  In the state of Florida, many students already started the new school year with classes beginning in mid to late August.  As a wife, mother, and business owner, I use my computer and electronic devices to organize, coordinate, and assist to efficiently streamline my personal life and business work.  The tools I often use to create a presentation for a client or flier promoting a play at my son’s school can all be found within Microsoft Office with programs such as PowerPoint or Microsoft Word.

With having my eldest son entering 9th grade as a freshman in high school (and also having preschool twin boys), Microsoft Office has become part of their schooling as well.  In my late elementary and early junior high school years, I  learned about keyboarding and typing in a designated learning lab.  About 30 computers were lined up all across the back and sides walls and all had typing and keyboard strokes programs.  Its on those early programs that I learned how to type – without looking down at my hands – and learned how to create a document.  I have been able to see the immeasurable progress computer programming  and technology have undergone from those days back in the ’80’s to its point where its integrated into everyday culture – including my own children.

My new 9th grader has been assigned homework where he needs to research information on the internet and complete discussion questions that need to be submitted and typed on Microsoft Word.  He recently did a student tutorial on the basics of PowerPoint and learned what its like to create a visually appealing presentation.  Even our preschool twins like to draw their own unique ‘pictures’ using animation tools found on Word or preschool aged fun and colorful learning programs.

With Microsoft Office…

  • Presentations aren’t just for the boardroom; with PowerPoint, students can turn a poster board idea into a multi-media presentation with images, audio and video that will wow everyone.
  • Authoring A+ papers and reports has never been easier with Microsoft Word.
  • Want to make working with numbers easier? Excel comes with simple-to-use analysis tools such as Sparklines – embedded word-sized graphics – that bring visual meaning to complicated data.
  • OneNote brings note taking to the digital age with easy to use tabs and search function. Keep audio, video, web clips and even scanned images in one place so that it’s never lost or forgotten.
  • Office 2010 and Office for Mac 2011 deliver the highest level of compatibility for students to share and collaborate on Office documents whether on a PC or Mac.
  • Students who use SkyDrive will never be without the documents, notes, photos, and videos that matter the most.

Along with my fellow Central Florida Latina Bloggers, I am pleased to host as a giveaway of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010! Enter below for your chance to win.
a Rafflecopter giveaway

Also, another back to school offer: Buy Office Home and Student 2010, Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 (3 pack), Office University 2010 or Office for Mac University 2011 now through Sept 14th and get 15% off.

The holidays can be beautiful… but for many grieving parents — especially special needs parents — this season hurts in ways most people never see.

Between disrupted routines, sensory overload, and the ache of missing someone you love, December can feel overwhelming. And here’s what most don’t realize:

Nearly HALF of Christians stop attending church after losing a loved one… not because they’ve lost their faith, but because they feel the church doesn’t know how to walk with them through grief.
These families aren’t leaving God —
they’re leaving because they feel unseen in their pain.

As someone who advocates for families of ALL abilities, I’m sharing a new blog post today on how we can support grieving loved ones — especially special needs parents — with compassion, faith, and presence this holiday season.

If someone in your life is grieving, please don’t stay silent.
Say their loved one’s name.
Offer specific help.
Create space for their emotions.
Pray with them.
Walk with them — gently, consistently, faithfully.

Because no parent should have to grieve alone during the holidays.

🏆 Earlier this week, I was once again filled with thankfulness, love, and faith.
🏆 I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Home Health Care USA for naming me the “Latina American Caregiver of the Year!”
🏆 Caregivers are among the unsung heroes in our society, and there are many different types of caregivers. For instance, the “Sandwich Generation” refers to individuals who are caring for both their aging parents and their children simultaneously. These caregivers often provide physical, emotional, and financial support. More than 50% of Americans in their 40s and 50s are currently caring for both their children and their senior parents—and usually without any help from extended family.
🏆 Some caregivers dedicate their entire lives to caring for a child—or children—with disabilities into adulthood. Unfortunately, many caregiving parents or family members do not get a break or have quality time for themselves. About 50% of couples with special needs or neurodiverse children end up getting divorced.
🏆 Having experienced both of these caregiving situations and still living within them, being named “Latina American Caregiver of the Year” means more to me than just an award. It symbolizes the millions of unpaid caretakers across the country who provide loving, effective care for family members or friends.
🏆 I also want to extend my gratitude to all those who have followed my caregiving journey the past 17 years, including my care for my beloved late parents and my superhero, Joshua, on my social channels, Mami of Multiples, and Dr. Joscelyn Ramos Campbell. The BEST is yet to come! 🙌
🌎 Lastly, congratulations to all my fellow winners standing on stage. Your work in your communities helps make the world a better place!
