We are once again excited for the holiday season this year…from celebrating Christmas/New Year’s to spending time with loved ones.  This year is going to be a special holiday season because our siblings are all coming to Florida (all 4 of us) with our spouses, children and our parents. My parents currently have 14 grandchildren and 13 out of the 14 will be present. In addition, we at Mami of Multiples are expecting a new baby in 2015 so we will have even more to celebrate and be thankful as our family reunites altogether for the first time in a long while.  With many of the grandchildren being kids or teens, having fun together is a priority, including spending time creating sweet baked goods in the kitchen.

A fun holiday recipe (that is easy to include adults and children) is Devil’s Food Cake & Fruit Pizza Dessert.
Devil’s Food Cake & Fruit Pizza Dessert
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Total Time: 2Hours:50Minutes
Makes: 16 servings
Ingredients
1 box Pillsbury Premium Moist Supreme Devil’s Food Premium Cake Mix
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 cup fresh raspberries
1/2 cup apple jelly

Directions
1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom only of 12-inch pizza pan with cooking spray or shortening.
2. Make batter as directed on devil’s food cake mix box. Spread in pan.
3. Bake 26 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
4. In small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Carefully spread mixture evenly over cake mix base.
5. Arrange berries over cream cheese mixture. Stir jelly until smooth; brush over berries.
6. Refrigerate about 1 hour or until chilled. Cut into wedges. Store covered in refrigerator.
