The Holidays at Walt Disney World

in brands, disney, entertainment, families, family outing, holidays, latinos, multiples, parenting, reviews, savings, technology, travel on 11/20/10

The holidays are a time of celebration, joy, love, gratitude, thinking of others, and spending time with loved ones and friends. The happiest place on earth, Walt Disney World, has incorporated all the beauty and magic of the holiday season throughout all the Disney parks.

Joseph and I were able to partake in the Disney Holiday Press Event to experience firsthand the beauty of a Disney Christmas.  It was a special time for us since Disney has been a major part of our lives.  Starting at the age of 6 months old, my parents would take me to Walt Disney World Florida from our hometown of New York City.  Many years we would frequent Disney World more than twice a year. After Joseph’s arrival, the Disney tradition continued among all of us.  When I would come to Orlando for public relations events or conferences with the federal government, I would bring Joseph and we take the opportunity to visit Disney World.  We took our customary picture with Mickey and it was a great bonding experience.  (I appreciated greatly that alone time with him being that he is a preteen and we have toddler identical twin boys and a Dad in the home daily.)

During this difficult economy, families are searching for affordable and convenient resources.  Disney has recently launched a Monthly Payment Program for Florida residents. Disney Annual Passes can be purchased by spreading out the cost of a Disney Annual Pass into 12 monthly payments.  Annual passes start as low as $16 per month and passes can be customized to suit the needs of each individual or family.

Special events such as The Candlelight Processional at Epcot, The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and The International Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot can be enjoyed with an annual pass.

To learn more or purchase the the monthly annual passes, visit www.disneyworld.com/monthly.

Florida residents can receive at least 27% savings at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Special room rates are applicable during 10/3-11/23/10 and 11/27-12/25/10. Learn more information at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passholder-program.

For those that are not Florida residents, a Disney vacation package that includes airfare, transportation, lodging, meals, tickets, etc., can be created and paid monthly by visiting, http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/vacation-packages/ or by calling (407) WDISNEY.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special holiday event held each year at the Magic Kingdom for the entire family.  Ticketed guests will be treated to a world of holiday merriment featuring the following:

Not everyone can make it Walt Disney World for the holidays, but with Disney Floral & Gifts everyone can bring a little of the Disney magic to their homes.

Disney Floral & Gifts can create personalized gifts and decor that can not only be shared by those staying at Walt Disney World Resort but shipped anywhere in the U.S. Floral arrangements, holiday decor, personalized gifts are all available for birthdays, quinceañera (sweet 15 in Spanish)/sweet 16, engagements, anniversaries and more.  If you are celebrating the holidays at Disney, your Walt Disney World Resort room can be decorated with Christmas and holiday decor to create an in-room celebration complete with a Disney Christmas tree, personalized stocking, and Disney character gifts.  For more information visit http://www.disneyflorist.com/ or by calling (407) WDW-GIFT to speak to a “Dream Maker” who can help you create your gift.

Disney themed items are a great holiday gift for anyone.  Disney’s Vinylmation is a fun and affordable collectible designer toy that combines creative expression and the need to collect!

The Mickey Mouse shaped figures are three-dimensional canvas upon which they can express their creativity. Figures come in a variety of sizes – 1.5 inch to 3 inch to 9 inch.  Much like the Disney Pins, Vinylmation are great for collecting or trading. They can be purchased at more than 60 locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort or online at www.disney.com/vinylmation. Vinylmation can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/vinylmation.

A nostalgic and sweet part of Disney history is Duffy the Disney Bear.

Duffy was gift Minnie Mouse made specially for Mickey when he was preparing to set sail on a long sea voyage.  Minnie presented the bear in a duffel bag and Mickey named it “Duffy.”  Duffy is sold at Epcot and can be found on www.facebook.com/duffythedisneybear.

Spanish language families can enjoy the Walt Disney World experience in their own language.  Información sobre crear una vacaciones en Disney, comprando boletos, y una guía de planeamiento para Disney está disponible en www.disneyworldespanol.com.

During Disney’s “Season of Sharing”, Disney gives generous contributions to many charitable organizations, i.e., Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army.  All year long Disney cast members volunteer at local food bank and shelters across Central Florida.  Information on Disney’s community relations can be found at http://community.wdwpublicaffairs.com/

Spending holidays in Disney is fun. If you plan to bring your toddlers in that place, better have Stroller Rental in Orlando

The holidays can be beautiful… but for many grieving parents — especially special needs parents — this season hurts in ways most people never see.

Between disrupted routines, sensory overload, and the ache of missing someone you love, December can feel overwhelming. And here’s what most don’t realize:

Nearly HALF of Christians stop attending church after losing a loved one… not because they’ve lost their faith, but because they feel the church doesn’t know how to walk with them through grief.
These families aren’t leaving God —
they’re leaving because they feel unseen in their pain.

As someone who advocates for families of ALL abilities, I’m sharing a new blog post today on how we can support grieving loved ones — especially special needs parents — with compassion, faith, and presence this holiday season.

If someone in your life is grieving, please don’t stay silent.
Say their loved one’s name.
Offer specific help.
Create space for their emotions.
Pray with them.
Walk with them — gently, consistently, faithfully.

Because no parent should have to grieve alone during the holidays.

🏆 Earlier this week, I was once again filled with thankfulness, love, and faith.
🏆 I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Home Health Care USA for naming me the “Latina American Caregiver of the Year!”
🏆 Caregivers are among the unsung heroes in our society, and there are many different types of caregivers. For instance, the “Sandwich Generation” refers to individuals who are caring for both their aging parents and their children simultaneously. These caregivers often provide physical, emotional, and financial support. More than 50% of Americans in their 40s and 50s are currently caring for both their children and their senior parents—and usually without any help from extended family.
🏆 Some caregivers dedicate their entire lives to caring for a child—or children—with disabilities into adulthood. Unfortunately, many caregiving parents or family members do not get a break or have quality time for themselves. About 50% of couples with special needs or neurodiverse children end up getting divorced.
🏆 Having experienced both of these caregiving situations and still living within them, being named “Latina American Caregiver of the Year” means more to me than just an award. It symbolizes the millions of unpaid caretakers across the country who provide loving, effective care for family members or friends.
🏆 I also want to extend my gratitude to all those who have followed my caregiving journey the past 17 years, including my care for my beloved late parents and my superhero, Joshua, on my social channels, Mami of Multiples, and Dr. Joscelyn Ramos Campbell. The BEST is yet to come! 🙌
🌎 Lastly, congratulations to all my fellow winners standing on stage. Your work in your communities helps make the world a better place!
