Recently I was given the opportunity to review a great product, Wikki Stix!
I am very excited to share my thoughts on this product with everyone.

Wikki Stix are made of yarn coated in food grade, non-toxic wax. Wikki Stix do not contain any latex, gluten, peanut or nut oils or byproducts; this means they are allergy friendly! 🙂 Wikki Stix are great for teaching your children their numbers, alphabet, shapes and colors but the possibilities really are endless! Of course you can’t expect your 3 year old to create a giant dinosaur with Wikki Stix all on his/her own but with some help from a parent you can create some pretty neat things! Wikki Stix are a useful tool  for special needs education, occupational therapy and for sight impaired education. The kits also come with a “connect the dots” activity to help your child create anything from animals to cars.

Wordless Wednesday: The Boys (2010)

When I first introduced my daughters to Wikki Stix, I was a little concerned that Alexia would not be interested in playing with them. She is very particular, and if she doesn’t like the texture of something, she will avoid it completely. Wikki Stix have a little sticky feeling to them because of the wax coating. It isn’t a bad thing but I wasn’t sure how Alexia would handle that. She really surprised me though; she loved the Wikki Stix and threw a huge fit when it was time to put them away. (That’s how you know your toddler really likes something, right?) The coating didn’t leave any residue on my tables or on their clothes so clean up was so quick! My daughters also rolled them up into giant balls. You would think that I wouldn’t be able to use them anymore but I was able to unroll each Wikki Stix and they were good as new again!

What I really loved most about Wikki Stix was that it helped Alexia open up with her sister Lily and she interacted with me more than she usually does. Alexia is usually very quiet and focused in whatever she is doing. When we were playing with the Wikki Stix, we made shapes and she actually repeated the names of each shape and their color back to me. Usually, this isn’t the case. She even helped Lily with her own Wikki Stix creations where we created rings and bracelets. I have so many good things to say about this product, I could go on all day. 🙂 I absolutely recommend Wikki Stix to all parents and educators.

  12. As Tía Loca (like Bren & Sujeiry I am – child), I’m always looking for gift ideas for my nieces. Wikki Stix added to my list. Isn’t it amazing how simple toys can teach the most and unleash a child’s imagination? PS: nice use of video in your review. Visualized it, a must for a child-toy-newbie like me!
